With Extreme Prejudice...

This past Saturday in the city of Juarez, Mexico a family on their way home after a party were gunned down. The family were American citizens & the wife worked for the US Consulate. The wife was 5 months pregnant when she was riddled with bullets. Her husband was killed as well in the hail of gunfire. Miraculously their 1 year old daughter in the backseat survived. Across town that same night a Mexican father was gunned down in his car & his two young children wounded in another hail of gunfire. Drug cartel hitmen are "suspected" in the twin crimes. 2,500 people were killed last year & over 18,000 since 2006 when Mexico's President declared war on the Drug Cartel's. These were not the first Americans to be killed since this started & likely not the last. The Drug Cartels are completely out of control & slaughter innocents without a second thought. They are also known to behead victims to send a sign. I guess it's not only in just one part of the world or just one rogue element of a religion that has a monopoly on brutality & in-human behavior. Our President says that he is outraged over this. If so, actions speak louder the words. We have all heard his words...it's time to make some decisions & act. I see two options here...

1) Once the FBI working with the Mexican authorities confirms which cartel was responsible for this Obama orders a Special Ops team (SEALS, DELTA, NIGHTSTALKERS) to hunt down these monsters & kill them with extreme prejudice. Wipe out the entire cartel. Send a message "game over". No arrests, Miranda rites read, Geneva Convention adhered to...simply remove them from the planet. All of them. Just taking out one or a few will do nothing. Remove them all.

2) Send our top cop Eric Holder down to Mexico unarmed with his badge & a big bag of plastic military grade zip-tie handcuffs & start making arrests. Remember Eric, the Texas Rangers had a saying...One riot, one Ranger! Not for nothing, but what did they have on the great Eric Holder? The man who arrested Al Qaeda single-handled & by using US rule of law prosecuted them to the full extent of the law in Manhattan blocks fro where 9-11 happened just to prove his moral superiority!

So Mr. President please pick one of the options. SEALS worked well for you with the Pirates...but then again...what does a battalion of SEALS have on Holder...Eric Holder. Plus worst comes to worse & the Holder option doesn't work out...you can always send in the SEALS. Remember...they leave no man behind...so they can always bring back what's left...

Love you long time sloppy bao/Bond...Chocolate Bond...

While at first I had no interest in the Vietnamese bao craze, I have since become a convert over the last year. I think at first the concept & the basic pork, pate, carrot, & cucumber just didn't do it for me. Now while I like authentic foreign cuisine sometimes the truth is when our cultures come together something better comes out. My newest discovery...the sloppy bao...the Vietnamese version of a Sloppy Joe that I had at Baoguette Cafe recently married ground pork with red curry, green mango, lemongrass, basil, & jalapenos...it was awesome! Another variation I had of the Sloppy Joe was at the Cafe Habana where they combined sauced pulled pork with jalapenos & black beans...another winner! If just maybe we could all come together as well as our food does when we combine our cultures we would all be better off. Our differences make us unique...but America's real strength has always come when we meld together...hey..it's called Deep Thoughts...remember...

Here's a shout out to Bond Street Chocolate Bar on Bond St in Manhattan. I like their bars(eating a milk chocolate almond & sea salt bar...any moment now a S&S* Swat team just may come crashing through my window to save me from eating 1/6 of the 3-4oz bar) but I believe they excel in their alcohol flavored bonbons...my favorites are Tequila, Elderflower Liqueur, & Absinthe. Be very careful with those though...eating them may not only bring on the S&S shock troops..but they may likely have ATF agents with them as well...

An A-Salt on our intellect & the Evil twin brother...

I'm not sure what scares me more sometimes...the mind-numbing stupid ideas that come out of our elected officials or the fact that we elect these morons! In an effort to make sure we stay healthy the geniuses in our legislature in NY have come up with the ingenious idea of banning ALL salt from the "cooking process" in ALL restaurants. Yes you read that right...banning salt to prepare food. Don't worry it gets better...salt can still be provided on the table so diners can add salt at their discretion. So in other words...we are all too stupid to moderate salt on our own so to help prevent heat disease, high blood pressure etc...salt will be banned from the kitchen but allowed on the table. Do these morons (yes you know who you are in Brooklyn...that's right elected official in Brooklyn) Do these idiots not know how to cook or the cooking process at all? Do they only expect others to cook for them or just expense all their meals on our tax dollars? Do they not know the importance of using salt in the process of cooking to bring out the flavors of the food? That using kosher &/or sea salt is healthier & better? That even most good restaurants put out the crap over-processed salt that is worst for you & the least flavorful? Do you not get that using salt in the cooking process...but at the restaurants discretion not putting out salt would make more sense? That putting out small amounts of sea-salt would best? I'm guessing some genius figured out that this would be an easy way to tax restaurants (which will end up getting picked by by us by increased prices). Maybe if the morons in charge that we elected didn't blow their budgets on $177.00 bagels(look it up...true story) they wouldn't have to save us from ourselves.

The other Einstein like idea is to jack up taxes on soda to promote good health via stopping salt's evil twin sugar from assaulting our bodies. Like that's going to work! Why don't you just come out & say that "we know this will discourage no one from drinking less soda...so it's another easy way to collect more tax money...plus we want to keep you fat, stupid, & complacent"! How about in the schools & via the media we teach people proper nutrition & how to eat & cook. How about some personal responsibility! How about if you take care of yourself you get a tax credit? If you decide to abuse yourself & get fat & all the wonderful problems that come with it..it's on you...not me!

Is it really a wonder that the current health care debate is such a disaster? Look at the brain trusts trying to put this together. People with no concept of nutrition but an understanding on how to tax us...remember we voted these idiots in...
