30-20-10

I hope you all enjoyed the 90+ heat & humidity... I decided instead of hitting the gym today I would hit the pool for multiple sets of laps...30, 20, & a final set of 10. So my new record is 60 laps in a day with 50 consecutive being my max at once.

It's official, I am now training to play Namor in Marvel's upcoming Sub-Mariner movie. I think the Rock would be perfect for the role but by the time they get around to it he will be too old & I'll will have grown gills...

Obama's Run

In the 70's Sci-Fi cult classic Logan's Run what's left of humanity (to the best of their knowledge) live in a hermetically sealed city. The world was ravaged by some disaster. The people live happy go lucky lives until they turn 30. Then a crystal on their chest glows & they must report for a glorious ceremony where they are to be renewed...actually incinerated by lasers...

An underground movement called Runners didn't believe the renewal story & would try to get out of the city. The Police are called Sandman(they put you to sleep...how politically correct of them). When one of the Sandman discovers evidence that they might be right he runs...thus Logan's Run...

From what I can gleam from the Healthcare bill being shoved down our throats & out our @SSes this kind of looks like where we are heading...

If ever there was a time to remake this movie it's right now. They can beef up the back story on how a combo of environmental disasters & war destroyed most of the planet & how the survivors came up with the renewal idea from the remnants of the records of the laws they were able to get their hands on...

The Best Things in Life are Free...

Well...almost free...it did cost $19.00 for the r/t LIRR ticket & beach pass..but since I was going to LI to see my niece & nephew anyhow...close enough... the waves on Friday at Long Beach were absolutely perfect for body-surfing & I got some of my best rides ever...I was jumping into waves that looked too high but I hit them just right & was lifted up & then driven hard towards shore...the volume of the water was so dense it felt like I was human torpedo tearing through the water!

It also turned out to be quite the work-out since I had to arch my back & tense my entire body during the ride since the waves were so strong...(I did 2 45+ minute sets & a 15 min warm-up)...Wish they could be like this ALL the time...sore as hell afterwards...but totally worth it!

No shark evacuations this time or rips to deal with...but was wondering how many were out there...nothing like watching Shark Week all week long & hitting the beach twice...
