Oh Where or Where did my Cindy Sheehan go...or where or where can she be...

What happened to the anti-war movement?!? Where are all the activists now? I haven't seen any rallies, camp outs in front of the White House, outside vacation spots of the President etc..? What happened to the "bring our troops home" crowd? Where are they... Why isn't Cindy Sheehan making sure more Cindy Sheehan's are not being created in Afghanistan???

The current President was voted in as the anti war President. Yet we are still in Iraq. Yes we pulled out of the cities & yes attacks went up. In all fairness it's time the Iraq's stepped up on their own. He's planning on sending plenty of those troops to do what in Afghanistan? We are still there as well. He's using drones to kill "freedom fighters" like his predessor did. What's the plan? Keep beating the Taliban...then they regroup...try to create a country out of a landmass that has never had a functioning state just a city or two? I'm all for Special Forces to hunt these monsters & KILL them all day long (can't read Miranda Rites to a non US Citzen not in a state of "life")...but do we really needs loads of infantry & Marines on the ground???

Iraq if things continue to improve will turn into what Germany & Japan did after WWII. Afghanistan will most likely continue to be Afghanistan. Just ask the Brits & Russkies. So, where are you Cindy...if you think Democrats run a better war...think again & see which party got us into which wars & how many soldiers we lost. I can only imagine how the press these days would have covered the D-Day invasion through the prism of their ultra left wing anti American eyes... So Cindy...just where are you...there are now 40+ more of you now as of the end of August...

Liars can Figure...but figures don't Lie...

The number 50 million keeps getting throw around as the number of those without any Health Care ...which may be an accurate number...but, big BUT...if as it's being reported 10-15 million are illegal aliens (regardless of your views...they are not US citizens) 10-15 are young under 25 who don't think they need it & 10-15 who make over $75K just don't want to pay for it because they don't think it's cost effective for the amount they go to a doctor. Which leaves about 10+...3% of the population. So it does seem that the current admin is kinda playing with the figures to advance their agenda.

Now while I believe our Health Care needs some serious fine tuning I don't believe the current plans are going to solve the problem. Why...because until they put their political biases & bases aside & attack the real problems TORT REFORM which is what drives out of control INSURANCE costs we are never going to fix this problem.

He made it after he lost a load of money in the market back during the South Sea share bubble. This just goes to show...that the current market collapse is just one of many historically, even the smartest guy/gal in the room can get slaughtered in the market, & last but not least...we simply never learn. Our base instincts always seem to take over & screw things up. At best...at least we are consistent.

The quote, which is now one of my favorites I read in the book Traders, Guns, & Money by Satyajit Das. I highly recommend it. It was written a few years ago but really explains why what is happening in the market & why even when we get out of this mess we'll just end up in another.

In a nutshell trading & accounting practices have gotten totally out of hand & are relying to much on "financial models" which simply don't really work. They just create loads of fees & lead to "unforeseen & statistically " impossible disasters within the "lab" but somehow seem to happen when exposed to the real world. I'm sure you can all think of real life examples of what happens when academics with no real world experience try to apply their vast knowledge & understanding to a problem & totally get it all wrong...
